A young man on his way to meet a Jedi Master, Happens upon an old man. He tells him that he is looking for someone. The
old man says, "Found someone you have." The man says that he is looking for a great warrior. The old man replies, "Wars
do not make one great."
"Do not look away, To the future, to the horizon, Keep your mind on where you are, what you are doing. Adventure
. . . Ha! Excitement . . . Ha! A Jedi craves not these things.
"A Jedi’s strength flows from the force. But beware of the dark side: Anger, Fear, Aggression, The
dark side of the force are they. Once you start down the dark path, Forever will it dominate your destiny; Consume
you it will.
"Is the dark side stronger? No. Quicker, easier, more seductive. But how am I to know the good side from
the bad? You will know. When you are calm, at peace, passive. A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, Never
for attack.
"Size matters not. Whether small or large, It is no different, Only different in your mind. You must unlearn
what you have learned. Try not: Do or do not; There is no try.
"The Force is a powerful ally. Life creates it, Makes it grow. Its energy, Surrounds us, And binds
us. Luminous beings are we, Not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you, Here between you and me, The
tree, the rock, everywhere.
"A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, The most serious mind. Concentrate, Feel the force flow, Calm. Control. Patience. The
quick and easy path Leads only to the dark side."
A Jedi does not act for personal power or wealth, but seeks knowledge and enlightenment. A true Jedi never acts
from hatred, anger, fear, or agression, but acts when calm and at peace with the Force.
There is no emotion; only peace. There is no ignorance; only knowledge. There is no passion; only serenity. There
is no death; there is only the Force.
